Work and Projects
Hi. I'm Tomer. I lead product R&D for new technologies, providing technical and design leadership across software, hardware, and UX teams. I've spent 15 years taking interaction concepts from lab bench to production, including haptic touchpads now shipping on 1M+ laptops, creative control surfaces, and features for Amazon devices like the Kindle and Echo Frames.
I led software product R&D for haptic touchpad technology from lab prototype to production across 22 laptop models by Lenovo, Microsoft, and Dell—over a million devices shipped.
I led user experience design and algorithm development for this award-winning pressure-sensitive controller, developing the interaction, technology and manufacturing processes that brought it from concept to production.
I led interaction design and user research for the first product concepts and built the software for initial interactive prototypes.
I led interaction design and UX prototyping for this haptic page-turning feature and supported product development efforts to bring it to production.
I worked on R&D efforts that developed product concepts for the Dash ordering button and Dash wand.
I led cross-device interaction design and coordinated with multiple teams to create consistent experiences across Amazon's hardware ecosystem.
I developed algorithms and interactive prototypes as one of the first employees at this startup building force-sensing touch technology. The company was acquired by Amazon to incorporate the technology into the Kindle.
These are the peer-reviewed papers I published at leading graphics and HCI conferences during my PhD and postdoc years.
I hold 63 granted US patents covering touch sensing, haptics, force interaction, and novel input methods, with over 100 filed.
